Literacy & Critical Thinking

For Saba, literature has been a special area of interest since childhood. He graduated on a full scholarship from the International Relations faculty of Free University of Tbilisi, where he earned his bachelor's degree with a focus on literature. Saba is the author of several academic works. Studying the social and political sciences helps him look at literary texts and social processes critically and in a broad context — and to share that many‑sided perspective with his own students. Saba has been teaching since the age of 19 and, over different periods, has built rich experience working with up to 500 students of more than 8 nationalities. For three years he led a course on political ideologies in Free University's “Future Diplomats' Club,” and he currently teaches business and economics in English to grades 7–12 at the international American school “Progress.” At that same school, on his initiative, a book club was created — a space where students discuss literary works and express their views freely. Saba is also active in promoting literature online. He is the creator and host of the independent literary show “Merani,” followed by up to 40,000 subscribers across platforms. Beyond his educational work, in 2023–2025 he was a Young European Ambassador and, within the EU's Eastern Partnership, planned and delivered international projects bringing Georgia and the EU closer. This diverse experience helps Saba support students in developing independent thinking, analyzing texts in depth, and forming their own perspective.
